Experience a holistic and transformative approach to movement at Manna Wellness
FINDING YOUR CORE & PELVIC FLOOR
Did you know that 1 in 3 women who have had a baby experience some loss of bladder control? And with pelvic floor muscles often difficult to identify, up to 40% of people may perform pelvic floor exercises incorrectly. Pelvic floor concerns are incredibly common, yet they are still something many of us don’t talk about or fully understand.
Join Lauren May, Principal Physiotherapist, Emma, Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor, and Rachel, Nutritionist, for a practical and informative workshop designed to help you better understand your core and pelvic floor and how to support them in everyday life and movement. Through Real-Time Ultrasound Imaging, Pilates-based movement and nutrition, you’ll gain practical knowledge and tools to better understand your body and support your pelvic health long after the workshop.
Private health rebates may be available depending on your level of cover and insurer. We recommend checking with your health fund prior to booking. And of course, stay afterwards for nibbles, refreshments and a few Manna goodies, because learning about your pelvic floor is always better with a little treat!

Clinical Pilates: The workshop will entail a physio-led clinical exercise session combining Pilates (including reformer Pilates) and specific rehabilitative clinical exercises tailored to your particular pelvic health complications. You will be safely guided through mindful engagement of pelvic floor muscles, diaphragmatic breathing, pelvic floor strengthening and relaxing exercises and stretches, with the aim of improving core strength and stability, conditioning of the pelvic floor and support to the pelvic organs. Don’t worry if you have never done pilates or clinical exercise before! You do not require any previous Pilates experience to attend this workshop.
RTUI: During the workshop, our Senior Physiotherapist will utilise Real Time Ultrasound Imaging so you will be able to see exactly how the deep stabilising muscles surrounding your pelvic floor are working, by producing an image on a screen in real time. This will be extremely effective when teaching you how to activate the muscles correctly and how to do exercise effectively.
Education: During this workshop our Senior Physiotherapist and Senior Pilates Instructor, will take a deep dive into the biomechanics of the pelvic floor with the end goal being to empower you to manage your pelvic health with confidence. Topics covered include:
develop your knowledge and understanding of the impact of pelvic muscle dysfunction on bladder, bowel and sexual function.
learn simple and easy to carry out spine, hip and pelvic girdle exercises.
develop practical tools (including pelvic exercises) to manage pain, optimise function and improve quality of life.
explore the correlation between mental health and pelvic health.
Treatment Plan: during this session our team will help you to gain a better understanding of your particular diagnosis and develop a treatment plan for care.
Refreshments: Enjoy some pelvic health friendly refreshments on arrival and following the workshop.
Workshop Resources: Take home with you some helpful pelvic health resources, including pelvic friendly recipes, together with a few little goodies from Manna Wellness to you.
